Karl Sanft, appointed President and CEO of 24 Hour Fitness in June 2022, brings nearly 30 years of leadership in consumer-focused enterprises. Over a 20-year tenure at Best Buy, he progressed from store management to Senior Vice President of U.S. Retail Operations, establishing world-class operational systems, driving efficiency, and cultivating high-performing teams. In 2019, Sanft joined 24 Hour Fitness as Chief Operating Officer, applying his operational acumen to stabilize and modernize the iconic gym brand.
Under his leadership, 24 Hour Fitness—now operating more than 240 clubs across nine states—has prioritized facility modernization, operational consistency, and innovative member programs. Sanft’s approach combines rigorous strategic oversight with a deep, personal commitment to fitness, inclusivity, and local community engagement.
